RUNNING FOR TEAM HOYT BECAUSE:

I want to help spread the message of Team Hoyt, giving everyone a chance to compete in races and to live full lives. Dick and Rick Hoyt led by example, demonstrating courage, determination and the enduring strength of love and hope. I am honored to do my small part to carry on their legacy, to compete every day, and strive to make myself better so that I can help those around me. This will be my second marathon as part of Team Hoyt and its going to be awesome!

RUNNING FOR TEAM HOYT BECAUSE:

If you were to tell me a few years ago that I would not only run the Boston Marathon in 2023, but that I’d be gearing up for the Chicago Marathon in 2026, I would have laughed. I was fortunate to have watched my grandfather and my Uncle Rick dedicate themselves to making a difference. Running, for them, was never just running; it was their purpose. I’ve grown to love running in a way I never expected, and being able to carry my grandfather’s and Uncle Rick’s spirit forward into another major marathon is an honor. I can’t wait to represent Team Hoyt again, to challenge myself once more, and to continue supporting a mission that means so much to my family.

OCCUPATION:

I'M RUNNING FOR TEAM HOYT BECAUSE:

The Hoyts are an inspiring story of love, joy, determination, persistence, and resilience. In a time when there are active efforts to minimize diversity, equity, and inclusion, I am even more motivated to support the work of the Hoyt Foundation. They are a beacon of hope for people with disabilities. When the world screams so many messages of dismissal and discouragement, Team Hoyt boldly responds with an unwavering, "Yes you can". And that's a message I will continue to push.

WHY I'M RUNNING FOR TEAM HOYT:

I want to run for team Hoyt because they are the best team out there and they are able to give back and help the community. My affiliation to team Hoyt is by family! Dick is my grandfather and Rick is my uncle and they inspire every step of my run. When my grandfather could no longer push Rick in races, I had the honor of stepping behind the chair. Rick and I were always close but that experience we shared changed my reason for running. I now know the answer to every challenge is YES YOU CAN!

RUNNING FOR TEAM HOYT BECAUSE:

I've run for charity before, and in doing so had come to meet Team Hoyt, their staff and runners at the communal events and celebrations. Hearing the incredible and inspiring stories of Team Hoyt athletes, families, and supporters during those events moved me deeply. It reminded me of why I love running for a cause: the sense of inclusion, perseverance, and hope that running can bring to others together. I am proud to run for Team Hoyt to support their mission of inclusion for individuals with disabilities!

RUNNING FOR TEAM HOYT BECAUSE:

I am honored to run the Chicago Marathon in support of the Hoyt Foundation and the amazing community it serves. As a nurse, I have had the privilege of caring for countless individuals with disabilities, and I have seen firsthand the challenges they face as well as the incredible strength, determination, and resilience they possess. Team Hoyt has been a tremendous inspiration to me over the years.

Their legacy has transformed lives by proving that everyone deserves the opportunity to participate, belong, and pursue their dreams. That message resonates deeply with me, both personally and professionally.

I am proud to help carry forward the legacy that Rick and Dick Hoyt created. Running this marathon is my way of giving back to a community that has inspired me in so many ways.
